American writer George Martin, whose series of novels was used as the basis for the popular TV series Game of Thrones, began work on a theatrical production based on his works.
Martin, according to CNBC, will write a new script specifically for the show. Moreover, all the actions that are planned to be set forth in it will unfold around the events that occurred 16 years before those that were shown to the audience at the beginning of the series.
It could premiere on Broadway, Australia or Britain in 2023.
Earlier it was reported that now the writer will become not just a screenwriter, but a producer of the show based on his most successful epic, and will also lead a group of screenwriters. The deal is designed for five years, according to the American press, and implies an “eight-figure amount” for the quality work of Martin.
