The coronavirus pandemic has not gone anywhere. The third wave of the spread of the virus is actively continuing in the country. Scientists continue to work on studying the virus and ways to combat it. Now it became known that in Russia they will begin to use genetic tests that will determine the severity of the course of COVID-19. Read more in our newsletter.
The experiment will start in Moscow. In the capital, Sistema-Biotech received permission from the Moscow Health Department for clinical testing in a genetic test to predict the severity of COVID-19.
The order of the Moscow Healthcare Department provides for the research work “Carrying out comparative tests of technologies for studying the relationship of genetic factors of the human body and the severity of the course of the disease with a new coronavirus infection COVID-19, the correlation of clinical indicators and virus strains”, in which medical organizations subordinate to the Department will take part.
It is noted that after clinical trials, the question of using the tests in practice will be decided.
