A military helicopter crashed in eastern Turkey. This is reported by the country's Ministry of National Defense on its official website.
The helicopter took off from the Turkish city of Bingol at 13:55 local time. At 14:25, contact with him was lost. It was later revealed that the helicopter crashed in the neighboring province of Bitlis.
Nine soldiers were killed. According to the Daily Sabah, among them is the commander of the 8th corps of the ground forces, General Osman Erbash. Four more people were injured and were evacuated to nearby hospitals.
Earlier it was reported that the American military plane T-38 crashed near Montgomery airport in Alabama. Both people on board the aircraft were killed. There were residential buildings in the area of the crash, but the plane did not crash into them.
