He also criticized the opposition for “serving Zelensky”.
Slovakia may stop gas transit to Ukraine. This may happen after Ukraine stops transiting Russian gas through its gas transportation system from the beginning of 2025.
This was announced by the Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Ficos on Facebook.
“We have the moral right to consider methods of stopping foreign supplies of approximately 7.5 million cubic meters per day to Ukraine. These foreign supplies from Europe to Ukraine put even more pressure on the price of gas, which is already at a record level – about 60 euros per megawatt-hour,” the politician emphasized.
The prime minister also thanked the Russian and Turkish sides for gas supplies to Slovakia via the Turkish Stream.
According to Fico, Ukraine continues to receive gas through reverse from Europe, “without which it would freeze.”
“Ukraine can harm itself as much as it wants, but Europe should not cover up its stupidity,” the prime minister emphasized.
According to gas transportation operators, Ukraine has been importing 14-16 million cubic meters of gas per day in recent days, with a total daily consumption of 95-100 million cubic meters.
We remind you that Ukraine will receive electricity from Slovakia, despite Prime Minister Fico's statements.
