Operator Gascade: the reverse flow rate of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline has decreased by more than five times

Reverse deliveries via the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline from Germany to Poland decreased by more than five times. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the data of the German gas transmission operator Gascade.
On the eve of gas transit fluctuated in the range of 885-955 thousand cubic meters per hour, however, on January 5, this figure dropped noticeably. Deliveries through the extreme western point of the mainline in Germany “Malnov” from 8:00 to 9:00 Moscow time amounted to almost 155 thousand cubic meters.
Effective December 21, 2021, Gazprom stopped booking additional capacities for gas transit via the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline to Germany. According to the Russian supplier, European buyers do not make bids themselves. Due to the freezing of supplies, the price of gas in Europe for the first time in history exceeded $ 2,150 per thousand cubic meters.
The length of the Yamal – Europe gas pipeline exceeds two thousand kilometers. It goes from the Russian Torzhok to the German Frankfurt-on-Oder and passes through the territory of four states: Russia, Belarus, Poland and Germany. Its design capacity is 32.9 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
