Soviet and Russian chess player Garry Kasparov launched a chess platform. A monthly subscription costs $ 13.99, or just over 1,000 rubles.

The chess player has been working on a platform called Kasparovchess for the past few years, TechCrunch reported. The project was funded by private investors and the French media conglomerate Vivendi. The amount of capital raised has not been disclosed.

Kasparovchess will also become a platform where legendary chess players can freely share tips and tricks with players of all levels. The service will post documentaries and educational films, podcasts, articles and interviews.

According to Kasparov, more than 1,000 videos have already been recorded for Kasparovchess. But for access to most of the video tutorials, as well as the analysis of the games played, you will have to pay – $ 13.99 per month or $ 119.99 per year.

In addition, the subscription will give users access to a database of 50,000 chess problems with which they will practice their skills. Players can now get preliminary access to the platform, but by the end of April, a wide audience will be able to use it.

Kasparovchess has a popular competitor – the chess server, forum and networking site Chess.com, launched in 2005. The cost of his premium subscription ranges from $ 5 per month or $ 29 per year, which is significantly cheaper than on the Kasparov platform.

Kasparov stated that the focus on the community will be the hallmark of his service. The long-term chess player wants to connect chess communities around the world and identify geeks.

In 1985, Kasparov became the youngest world chess champion by defeating Anatoly Karpov. In 2005, he announced the end of his chess career. Kasparov founded a foundation that helps children from all over the world gain access to chess.
