Gagarin at Yandex: what they want to know about the first cosmonaut
In honor of the 60th anniversary of the first manned space flight, which will be celebrated on April 12, the Yandex Internet portal analyzed search queries about Yuri Gagarin, MIR 24 reports.
The popularity of queries was assessed on a 100-point scale: the higher the query frequency, the higher the score.
This is what popular queries with question words and the last name Gagarin look like, asked by Russian users from March 12, 2020 to March 12, 2021.
Most often, users were interested in what year Yuri Gagarin flew into space – here the maximum points are 100. They also often asked how Gagarin died – 64 points. In third place is the question of how long his flight lasted – 20 points. The top five of the rating is closed by the questions where Gagarin landed – 13 points and where he was born – 11 points.
5 points each scored questions about the name of Gagarin's spacecraft and when the future first cosmonaut was born. 4 points for the question, what medal Gagarin received after the flight into space. 3 points each for the questions, which city was renamed to Gagarin in 1968, when the wife of the first cosmonaut died and what was his call sign.
Users were also interested in who flew into space before Gagarin, who Gagarin was, what he said when he flew into space, how old he was then and how many times he flew around the Earth – 2 points each. By 1 point, the questions were scored, who was the backup of the first cosmonaut, where Gagarin studied and on which spacecraft he flew.
Another rating was compiled on the basis of queries with the word “photo” and the last name Gagarin given during the year.
Here the query “Gagarin's Family” is in the lead – 100 points. On the second place “Gagarin in a spacesuit” – 44 points, on the third – “Gagarin in space” – 29 points. The top five also include the query “Gagarin's Smile” – 16 points and “Gagarin's landing place” – 11 points.
Next come the queries “Rocket” Vostok “and Gagarin” – 9 points, “Gagarin in childhood” – 8 points, “Gagarin and Queen Elizabeth” – 7 points, “Gagarin in life” – 3 points and “Volga” Gagarin “- 2 points.
Add to this that on Friday, the MS-18 spacecraft, named after the first cosmonaut, successfully docked to the ISS. On board is the new crew of the space station.
