The leaders once again condemned Russia's unjustified war against Ukraine.
The leaders of the G7 countries (Germany, USA, Britain, France, Italy, Canada and Japan) said that as a result of the Russian war in Ukraine, they will support Kyiv for as long as necessary, and also call on China to put pressure on Russia to withdrew its troops from Ukraine and ceased hostilities.
This is stated in the final communiqué of the G7 summit, writes the Financial Times.
“As Russia is waging an unjustified, unprovoked and illegal war against Ukraine, we call on China to put pressure on Russia to immediately comply with the legally binding ruling of the International Court of Justice of March 16, 2022 and the relevant resolutions of the UN General Assembly and stop its military agitation. and unconditionally withdrew its troops from Ukraine,” the document says.
The leaders once again noted the condemnation of Russia’s unjustified war against Ukraine.
“We will support Ukraine as long as necessary, and provide it with the necessary financial, humanitarian, military and diplomatic assistance to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity,” the document says.
The leaders call on China to comply with its obligations under international law and “to contribute to international security.”
The G7 countries reminded China to abide by the principle of the UN Charter on the peaceful resolution of disputes and “refrain from threats, coercion, intimidation or the use of force.”
