G7 countries announced their readiness to impose large-scale sanctions against Moscow over Ukraine

The countries of the Group of Seven (G7) are ready to impose tough economic sanctions against Moscow in the event of an invasion of Russian forces into Ukraine. This was reported in a statement by the G7 finance ministers, published on the website of the UK government.

“We are ready to collectively impose economic and financial sanctions that will have large-scale and immediate consequences for the Russian economy,” the statement said.
