The Group of Seven (G7) countries agreed to provide $50 billion to Ukraine through the use of frozen Russian assets.
This was announced by the Elysee Palace on the evening of June 12, AFP reports.
According to a message from the office of French President Emmanuel Macron, Ukraine will receive the loan until the end of 2024.
As the Elysee Palace spokesman said, there is an agreement, the G7 leaders make the decision, and “the technicians then do their job to give it shape.”
The decision is expected to be formally approved at the G7 summit on June 13-14, after which countries will have to determine the technical aspects of its implementation.
Recall that the day before, Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky noted that France supports the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the defense of Ukrainian cities from Russian attacks and global pressure on Russia because of this unjust war.
