Putin said that Russia never seemed to give up on “peaceful negotiations.”
US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping abandoned the online G20 meeting held today, November 22. For the first time in 2 years, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is participating in it.
Why the leaders of the two most powerful states did not get in touch and which of Ukraine’s partners went to listen to the dictator’s speech – says a TSN.UA exclusive.
Why Xi and Biden refused to meet
Joseph Biden and Xi Jinping stirred up the world community. Immediately after their second visit to San Francisco, both leaders refused to take part in the online G20 summit.

A lot of the media has really jumped on the idea that it's all about Putin. Yes, this would be correct, because sitting and looking into the eyes of this cannibal is hardly very interesting, and talking to him using civilized methods is extremely cynical. But this did not prevent French President Emanuel Macron, European Council President Charles Michel, European Commission President Ursulie von der Leyen, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, and so on from attending the summit. So this conclusion is almost certainly incorrect.
However, Putin spoke there, and, as always, started such a barrel organ that your ears faded. The video of the broadcast shows how Spanish Prime Minister Sanchez, seemingly out of boredom and misunderstanding, can barely restrain himself from falling asleep. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried to listen attentively, but still protected his head with his hand.
What Putin said about Ukraine
In response to speeches by Western leaders, Putin started talking about war. In his opinion, everyone allegedly puts too much emphasis on the fact that Russia started the war, but should pay attention to the fact that Ukraine does not want peace. At this moment, the English writer Orvel probably turned over in his grave. His book “1984” seems to be slowly becoming a reality.
Putin's lies didn't end there. With the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the world experienced a sudden economic crisis, in particular, prices for fuel and food increased significantly. Logistical problems also arose. And who is to blame for this, do you think? The question is rhetorical, but Putin believes that “the great economies of the world” are to blame for everything.
The fact is that this online meeting is the second in the last two days. At the first of them, the leaders discussed the situation in the Middle East. In particular, it was attended by Chinese President Xi. Beijing is trying to actively influence the situation in the region. The head of the PRC himself has repeatedly advocated the creation of a full-fledged state of Palestine. In the second country, they paid more attention to climate issues and economic development. Probably, the climate agenda is not a priority for China.
In addition, today Xi is meeting in Beijing another representative of Russia, the head of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Volodin. So it’s too early to talk about coldness in relations between the two dictatorships. It seems that the Chinese leader managed to discuss what he wanted and decided not to stay too long at the summit. Both Biden and Xi were replaced by lower-ranking officials at the summit.
