“We underline the importance of the commitments of the UN system and agencies, primarily WHO, with a focus on ongoing assessments, the stated commitment to transparency and the need to improve its overall effectiveness,” the final declaration says.
The G20 leaders also added that they took into account the assessments of gaps in pandemic preparedness, which were prepared by the relevant international organizations.
Earlier, the leaders of the G20 countries promised to equitably distribute vaccines and medicines for coronavirus around the world. “We will spare no effort to ensure equal access for all people. We recognize mass vaccination as a global public good, ”they said.
According to the latest data, the number of cases of coronavirus infection has exceeded 58 million. Since the start of the pandemic, 1.37 million people have died from COVID-19.
