The network has information about the beginning of the implementation of a fresh agreement reached between the presidents of the United States and Russia. As part of it, the FSB will unite with the American authorities – together they will fight cybercriminals.
The domestic special service is already taking the necessary actions under the agreement, said FSB Director Alexander Bortnikov during the opening of the IX Moscow Conference on International Security, TASS reports.
At the same time, the head of the department clarified that its specialists do not exclude possible cyberattacks on critical information infrastructure by terrorists. It is for this reason that the FSB sees a particular danger in “the complexity of timely identification of the true source of the attack and the possibility of provoking acute interstate conflicts.”
Bortnikov also said that only the joint efforts of all security services in the vastness of cyberspace can be effective. Therefore, the head of the domestic department hopes for the support of the initiative from foreign colleagues.
