According to the information received, on March 19, 2022, the Russian occupation troops illegally brought to the territory of the Russian Federation 2,389children who were in the temporarily occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine announced this on its page on Facebook.
— The forced transfer of the civilian population to the territory of the aggressor state, in particular children, has signs of abduction. Such actions are a gross violation of international law, in particular international humanitarian law, — the report notes.
By destroying houses and killing parents, the Russian Federation is depriving Ukrainian children of parental care, exposing their lives to further danger on Russian territory.
We call on the international community to immediately respond to the smuggling of children, increase pressure on Russia to force it to stop the barbaric war against the Ukrainian people.
The facts of child abduction , just like hundreds of other facts of the crimes of Russian invaders against the civilian population of Ukraine, are carefully documented by law enforcement authorities. Those responsible for these crimes will be held accountable.
