From today, January 1, amendments to the law on electronic communications come into force in Ukraine … Citizens must register their SIM cards by linking them to their passport data.
The draft law provides that the end user is required to identify himself with the provider of electronic communication services in the manner prescribed by the rules for the provision and receipt of electronic communication services.
The draft law provides for a transitional period until January 1, 2025, during which subscribers who have used the services of the operator, will be able to identify themselves.
After this period, providers of electronic communications services will suspend their provision to users who have not signed the contract or have not completed identification.
After two months from the date of termination, if the user did not conclude or did not provide passport data, communication services are stopped.
