From March 1, 2021, Cyprus will resume issuing tourist visas for Russian citizens. In total, from this number, the country will remove the current travel restrictions for 56 states.
“After the entry into force of the action plan announced by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, tourist visas will be issued, as before, for all eligible citizens of the Russian Federation,” Izvestia was told at the country's embassy in Moscow.
The ministry noted that the process of applying for a visa will completely go online, the application will need to be registered electronically through the websites of the embassy and consulates. Russians must have a negative covid test result on arrival. However, a certificate of vaccination will not replace it, it will be the test result that will be needed.
Meanwhile, the Federal Air Transport Agency clarified that regular passenger flights have not yet been resumed between the Russian Federation and Cyprus.
