Stephanie Frappart plays a role in the men's EM
The French Stephanie Frappart will be the first female official to take part in the men's European football championship this summer. The European association (UEFA) confirmed the list of referees who will be present at the tournament on Wednesday. Frappart is not one of the 18 referees who will lead the 51 games. She will serve as either the fourth official or the reserve assistant referee.
Frappart was the first woman to referee a game for men in the Champions League, French Ligue 1 and World Cup qualifiers. The EM will take place between June 11th and July 11th, Austria will face North Macedonia, Ukraine and the Netherlands in the group stage.
