French inventor tested his “flyboard”: the flight ended unexpectedly (video)

The test of a new flying device based on a jetpack ended in failure, the pilot fell into the lake from a height of 15 meters.

Presenting his new invention, 40-year-old Frenchman Franky Zapata, dubbed “Bat” by the local press, failed. The flight on a “flyboard” (flying board) ended with a fall into a reservoir, over which the inventor rose.

This is reported by the BBC.

A video posted on social networks shows that Zapata rises into the air from the platform, rotates in the air for a long time at a sufficiently high altitude, after which it seems to lose control of the flight and fall into the lake.

A 15m fall caused minor injuries. The 40-year-old inventor was taken to the hospital, he is recovering and nothing threatens his life.

True, some events in which the “Bat” intended to participate will now take place without him.

Despite this embarrassment, Frankie Zapata has already made history when, in 2019, he flew his homemade device over a military parade during the Bastille Day celebrations, as well as flying a flyboard across the English Channel.

Recall that in Russia, an inventor from St. Petersburg came up with a tank that shoots feces. In his opinion, this will help solve the problem of the toilet for the military and break the spirit of the opponent.
