The cargo ship Felicity Ace, carrying about 4,000 premium cars manufactured by the Volkswagen Group, caught fire in the Atlantic Ocean, near the Azores (an autonomous region of Portugal). It is reported by CNN.

The incident happened on February 17th. On board were 22 crew members and 3,965 luxury cars, including brands such as Porsche, Audi and Lamborghini. All people were evacuated from the ship by the Portuguese military sailors and naval aviation.

As of Thursday, February 18, the Portuguese Coastal Patrol reports that the nearly 200 meters long ship continues to burn. The owner of the vessel has arranged for it to be towed, but so far the operation has not begun, and the Felicity Ace is drifting off the Azores.

On the morning of February 18, the Italian cruise ship Euroferry Olympia with 237 passengers on board caught fire in the Ionian Sea off the coast of Greece. According to information on the website marinetraffic.com, the ship was flying between the cities of Igoumenitsa (Greece) and Brindisi (Italy). It is noted that 51 crew members are also on board the liner.
