The house from the 1984 horror film A Nightmare on Elm Street has been given a new owner. Real estate in Los Angeles was sold for 2.98 million dollars (about 222.5 million rubles), according to Mansion Global.

In the Wes Craven film, the house with three bedrooms, four bathrooms and a separate laundry room was inhabited by the main character, Freddy Krueger victim Nancy Thompson, played by Heather Langenkamp. It was there that the serial killer haunted her dreams. The sellers took advantage of the property's past in the film industry and advertised one of the bathrooms with a photo of Kruger in a hot tub. Unfortunately, the Freddie's ghost figurine was not for sale with the house.

In addition to the main building, the property also includes a swimming pool surrounded by citrus trees and a guest cottage with a covered veranda and kitchen. The house was first put up for sale in October last year for $3.35 million (about 242.7 million rubles). The former owner of the property expected to get more from the sale thanks to the approaching Halloween. However, the buyer was not found, and in December the price was reduced. The identity of the new owner of the house is unknown.

Prior to the sale, the property belonged to the director of the crime drama “Hustlers” Lauren Scafaria. It is not known exactly when and for what amount she purchased the house: according to various sources, the purchase could take place in 2013 for $2.1 million (about 156.8 thousand rubles) or in 2021 for $3.74 million (about 279. 3 million rubles). Scafaria herself declined to comment.

Previously, a house from another cult film was put up for sale. London townhouse from the Christmas melodrama “Love Actually” can be bought for 3.25 million pounds (about 327.8 million rubles).
