Consumer sentiment rose by 6 points to 95 points in December

Consumers in France were much more optimistic in December. According to the Insee statistics office, consumer confidence rose by six points to 95 points on Wednesday. Analysts had expected a weaker increase to 91 points on average.

The latest increase follows a two-year low in November. At the end of the year, the prospect of widespread corona vaccinations should have boosted the mood. Above all, consumers rated the general economic situation noticeably better.
