According to the French president, all scenarios, including the use of Western troops in Ukraine, are possible.
French President Emmanuel Macron, commenting on the use of Western troops against Russia, said that in a situation where the Kremlin has stepped over all boundaries, this possibility cannot be avoided. At the same time, he emphasized that the only culprit for such a development of events will be the Kremlin regime in Russia, which is already waging a war in Europe.
The French leader spoke about this on the evening of March 14 in an interview with TV channels TF1 and France 2.
What is at stake in Ukraine? This war is existential for our Europe and for France,” says Emmanuel Macron.
He recalled that the distance between Strasbourg and Ukrainian Lvov is less than 1,500 km, and this is a city in a country in which there is a war. “The war is on European soil… We are not at war with Russia. We just have to be clear, we shouldn’t let Russia win,” he emphasized.
According to the French president, all scenarios, including the use of Western troops in Ukraine, are possible, but the only one who is responsible for this is the Kremlin regime.
“It won’t be us. We will never lead the offensive, we will never take the initiative. France is a force for peace. It’s just that today, for there to be peace in Ukraine, we must not be weak. And therefore we must consciously look at the situation, and we must say with determination, will, courage that we are ready to use means to achieve our goal, which is that Russia does not win,” explained the French leader.
Emmanuel Macron said that if he wins in Ukraine, Putin will not stop, so the security of France and Europe is at stake in this war. Therefore, he called for being strong and ready to adapt “to the choice that Russia will make,” emphasizing that if “the war spreads to Europe, it will be Russia’s only choice and responsibility.”
“Of course, today Russia is the enemy. The Kremlin regime is the enemy. I have always said this, we are not at war with Russia and the Russian people, but we support Ukraine. There is no lasting peace if there is no sovereignty, a return to internationally recognized borders of Ukraine, including Crimea,” Macron said.
We recall that it was previously reported that French President Emanuel Macron named an important condition for sending troops to Ukraine.
