French Ambassador to Russia Pierre Levy spoke about the main condition for the joint production of the Russian anti-coronavirus drug Sputnik V. He is quoted by RIA Novosti.
According to the diplomat, it will depend on whether the European Medicines Agency (EMA) approves the vaccine. Levy stressed that the procedure will be carried out on the basis of “purely scientific analysis.”
The use of the Sputnik V vaccine on their territory has already been approved by Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates, Hungary, Tunisia and Pakistan. The vaccine registration process in the European Union and WHO has been initiated.
Sputnik V was developed by the Russian Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry and became the world's first officially registered vaccine against coronavirus. Later, the Russian Ministry of Health registered another drug – EpiVacCorona, developed by the Vector Center of Rospotrebnadzor.
