In France, over the past day, more than 100 thousand cases of coronavirus infection have been identified. This is reported by the French edition of LeParisien with reference to the country's sanitary agency.
According to the department, 104 611 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the country per day. This has become a record since the start of the pandemic. At the same time, on Friday, December 24, 94.1 thousand cases of virus infection were detected in France, and last Saturday – 58.5 thousand.
Earlier, the head of the French Ministry of Health, Olivier Veran, admitted that a “hidden form” of mandatory vaccination against COVID-19 would appear in the country. Veran praised the possible transition of France from sanitary passes to immunization certificates, calling the latter “a hidden form of mandatory vaccination, but more effective.” He also added that the introduction of bans on visiting bars, restaurants and other public places for citizens who have not been vaccinated against the coronavirus is more effective than a system of fines.
