France has recorded a record daily increase in coronavirus cases. This was reported by the country's sanitary agency Sante Publique, RIA Novosti reports.
So, over the past day in France, 10,561 cases of COVID-19 infection were registered. The indicator for the first time exceeded the 10 thousand mark for the entire time of the pandemic. On Thursday, 9,842 new cases were identified in the country. In total, 373,911 people were infected with coronavirus in France, 30,910 died, most of them were hospitalized.
Over the past week, 2.4 thousand people were delivered to hospitals in France, 417 patients are in intensive care.
In late August, the Paris authorities decided to force city residents to wear protective masks on the street. This measure will apply even to those who go for a run. “The virus is spreading throughout the country. If we do not respond effectively enough, the number of diseases could rise again, ”explained French Prime Minister Jean Castex.
As of September 12, there are more than 28.5 million people infected with coronavirus in the world, of which more than 917 thousand have died, another 19.2 million have recovered. Most of the infected are in the United States, India, Brazil, Russia and Peru.
