~6 0~p>The French Ministry of Defense spoke about the state of affairs in the field of weapons manufacturing.

The French Ministry of Defense expressed hope that the country will be able to withdraw for the production of 5 thousand 155 mm shells per month in 2024.

This was stated by Defense Minister Sebastian Lecornu during hearings in the National Assembly, reports Le Monde.

“I really hope that we can produce 4,000 to 5,000 155mm rounds per month,” Lecornu noted.

He recalled that before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, France produced 1,000 shells per month, and after the start of the war, it increased these volumes to 2,000 in 2023.

Lekarnu stated that in February of this year France began producing 3,000 shells per month, but the figure is still low.

The minister explained that the country has problems with the production of gunpowder and debugging production lines, but the defense company Nexter is doing its best to invest in production and open an additional line.

Recall that it was previously reported that Seoul was stunned by the statement about the amount of ammunition that the DPRK transferred to Russia.

In addition, we previously informed that The Netherlands will allocate more than 100 million euros for the purchase of shells for Ukraine.
