The French Ministry of Defense told reporters that the issue was being studied, but did not confirm the deployment of trainers.

French Ministry of Defense does not confirm the words of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Syrsky about the sending of French military instructors to Ukraine.

The French publications AFP and BFM write about this with reference to the French Ministry of Defense.

“The Ministry of Defense (France. – Ed.) does not name the exact date and does not confirm this information,” says the BFM message.

The department responded that the training of the Ukrainian military by foreign instructors in Ukraine “is one of the areas under discussion” after a conference in support of Ukraine convened by French President Emmanuel Macron at the end of February.

“We continue to study this area together with the Ukrainian side, in particular, in order to understand their specific needs,” noted the French Ministry of Defense.

Recall that the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, said that he signed documents allowing the first French instructors to visit Ukrainian training centers and get acquainted with their infrastructure and personnel. Syrsky stated that he “welcomes the initiative of France to send instructors to Ukraine to train Ukrainian military personnel.”

President Emmanuel Macron previously said that France would consider sending troops if the Russians broke through the front line and Ukraine asked for help.
