The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus infection in France again reached record levels and increased by 16,972, according to the sanitary agency of the republic Santé Publique, RIA Novosti reports.
Since the beginning of the epidemic in France, the total number of infections has reached 606 625. In total, 32 198 patients with COVID-19 have died.
The previous anti-record was recorded on September 24 – more than 16 thousand cases. Over the past week, 4087 people were admitted, 849 of them were in intensive care.
As of October 3, there are more than 34.7 million people infected with coronavirus in the world, of which more than 1.03 million have died, another 24.1 million have recovered. Most of the infected are in the United States, India, Brazil, Russia and Colombia.
An outbreak of pneumonia COVID-19 caused by a novel coronavirus was first recorded in December 2019 in Wuhan. On March 11, WHO announced that the situation could be characterized as a pandemic.
