French Foreign Ministry: Europeans and France have made a significant contribution to the US and NATO responses

France and European countries have made an important and significant contribution to the preparation of written responses by NATO and the United States to Russia’s proposals on security guarantees. This was stated by a representative of the French Foreign Ministry, RIA Novosti reports.
“The Europeans, and France have played their full role, have made a significant and important contribution to these two agreed and consistent texts. These responses put forward concrete proposals and defined the main parameters of the necessary dialogue that we are collectively ready to conduct with Russia on issues of European security and stability,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that the answers to Russian proposals on security guarantees in Europe will be made public in the near future. The diplomat noted that although Washington prefers that the document remain for confidential diplomatic dialogue, it has been agreed with all US allies and with Ukraine.
On January 26, the United States sent Moscow a written response to the proposals on security guarantees. It was brought to the Russian Foreign Ministry by US Ambassador John Sullivan and handed over to Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko. In addition, a written response from NATO was handed over to the Russian Ambassador in Brussels.
