The cost of the contribution includes effective vaccination campaigns, testing and treatment, community-based testing strategies
France and the World Health Organization have announced a new €50 million contribution agreement to help countries' health systems accelerate equal access to tests, treatments and vaccines.
Ukrinform writes about this.
The agreement is intended to support the work of WHO.
“WHO is very grateful to the French government for its continued commitment to global unity in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
France has played a leading role in supporting the WHO, he said.
“This type of contribution is critical for WHO and is essential for WHO to achieve its mission and save the lives of the world's most vulnerable people,” he added.
The cost of the contribution includes effective vaccination, testing and treatment campaigns, a community-based testing strategy, and support for life-saving clinical operations. This aims to strengthen national response mechanisms and strengthen health systems.
