Experts have listed several algorithms that can be used to reduce the number of intrusive advertising calls on the phone. This was reported by RIA Novosti.
Most of the incoming calls to Russian subscribers – about 63% – were spam. The agency cites such data with reference to the statistics of the Kaspersky Who Calls application.
Experts interviewed by the publication named several ways to combat intrusive telephone advertising. Among them is the installation of a specialized mobile application on a smartphone to identify numbers from which previously other subscribers received spam calls. The disadvantage of this method is that the user gives the application access to his phone book and other personal data stored in the phone. He cannot be sure that the program does not transfer them somewhere to the side on its own initiative.
The second way to combat telephone spam is the services of telephone operators. It is effective because the operator himself “sees” the nature of calls from subscribers of his network and can detect suspicious activity.
Another way is “folk”. According to him, a person simply should not receive calls from unfamiliar numbers. However, there is a risk of limiting your communication by missing the really necessary call in the middle of the spam stream.
Experts believe that one of the most effective algorithms for dealing with intrusive advertising calls is manually entering each number from which spammers called you into the “black list” of your personal smartphone.
