More police arrests are likely following the racial slurs against three England players.

The police have arrested four people so far after the racist insults against England internationals Bukayo Saka, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford. The UK Football Policing Unit (UKFPU) announced on Thursday. The unit specializes in combating crime, violence and disruption at football events and works with the Ministry of the Interior.

A special team of investigators is currently working through a large number of reports, the UKFPU told the PA news agency. The three England pros failed on Sunday in the European Championship final against Italy on penalties. England lost the final. As a result, Saka, Sancho and Rashford were racially insulted on social networks. The UK authorities opened an investigation into hate crimes.

The UKFPU announced that numerous reports had been received from all over the country. It is likely that there will be more arrests in the next few weeks. Dozens of inquiries have been sent to social media companies.
