Scientists have found a link between the physique of men and their parenting skills. So, it turned out that overweight men are more likely to be considered good fathers, writes the Daily Mail.
More than 800 people took part in the study. They were shown photos of athletic men as well as slightly overweight men. The subjects noted that they do not trust the parenting skills of thin men, and also do not hope for their monogamy.
But overweight men were considered more inclined to be good fathers. According to scientists from the University of Mississippi, people perceive fat fathers as less dominant, which means that relations with them are warmer.
While the subjects were looking at the photo, they were asked questions about the tendency of the men depicted to one or another positive or negative behavior model. For example, is the man in the photo ready to help the child with lessons or, conversely, does this man think that children annoy him.
At the same time, the study participants were also suspicious of overweight men. According to scientists, a large amount of excess weight is associated with a lack of discipline.
