Lando Norris was attacked on the sidelines of the European Championship final between England and Italy. That still gives the British a hard time.
A watch was stolen from the 21-year-old in a robbery at London's Wembley Stadium at the European Championship final on Sunday. The McLaren driver has not yet recovered from the traumatic experience four days later, as Norris admitted immediately before the Silverstone Grand Prix weekend.
“I'm not in perfect shape, I can't lie. Mentally there is still a lot to do,” said the fourth place in the World Championship before his home race. In any case, Norris has been suffering from insomnia since Sunday. The 21-year-old didn't want to go into his mental state any further.
Norris is friends with several English team players and attended a soccer game for the first time last Sunday. “I'm very grateful to be here,” said the Briton, referring to his home race. In the cockpit, the incident will not affect the McLaren driver. “I'm sure everything will be okay in the first practice session,” concluded the Briton.
The 21-year-old has already achieved three podium positions in the current season and is nine points ahead of Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas in the drivers' standings with 101 points.
