Formula 1 announced the cancellation of the Sochi Grand Prix in Russia in 2022 due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine on February 24.

The Grand Prix in Russia was scheduled to take place on September 23-25, 2022.

Even before the official decision by Formula 1 to cancel the stage in the Russian Federation, four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel announced that he would boycott the Sochi Grand Prix and called on F-1 leaders to remove it from the calendar for 2022.

Earlier it became known that the Union of European Football Federations (UEFA) moved the final of the Champions League-2022 from Russian St. Petersburg to Paris due to Russia's military invasion of Ukraine.

The match will take place on May 28 at the Stade de France.
