Formula 1 has now announced the final calendar for the finale of the 2021 season. It will be a desert premiere.
As the motorsport “premier class” announced on Thursday, seven races will be held until December 12th. This will end the season with 22 races.
A big question mark remained behind the Australian Grand Prix, which has now been finally canceled due to the entry regulations. Instead, there will be a premiere: the Qatar Grand Prix will take place on November 21st. The Losail circuit has been an integral part of the MotoGP World Championship in recent years.
In addition, Qatar will have a permanent place in Formula 1. From the 2023 season onwards, the desert course will be used regularly. Formula 1 signed a ten-year contract with the route operators. This makes Qatar the fourth desert state to host a Grand Prix after Bahrain, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia.
