A group of 24 US experts on Russia and former ambassadors have called on US President Joe Biden to release a list of measures the White House intends to take in the event of a Russian attack on Ukraine. Reported by the Associated Press.

“We believe that the United States, in coordination with its NATO allies and with Ukraine, must immediately take measures that will affect the calculations of the Kremlin before they make a choice in favor of military escalation,” they said.

It is clarified that the statement was signed by two former US ambassadors to Russia, Michael McFaul and Alexander Vershbow, as well as several ex-US ambassadors to Ukraine. According to diplomats, the plan for such sanctions should be brought to Moscow's attention right now, “so that the Kremlin has a clear idea of the scale of the economic blow that it will face.”

Earlier, Joe Biden said that during a telephone conversation with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, he said that Moscow's invasion of Ukraine was inadmissible. The head of the White House said that such actions would lead to the imposition of sanctions against Russia and an increase in the American military presence in Europe.
