Christoph Metzelder
Former Real Madrid and German national football team defender Christoph Metzelder confessed to distributing child pornography. This is reported by Spiegel with reference to the statement of the Dusseldorf court.
What punishment the athlete faces is not specified. In addition, it is not clear whether the German pleaded guilty on all counts, or whether this happened in part.
Late last year, police raided Metzelder's home. 297 files with child and teenage pornography were found in the football player's mobile phone. According to the investigation, in the period from July 9 to September 1, 2019, Metzelder sent several similar files to three women.
Metzelder is known for his performances for Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04. The defender played for the Royal Club from 2007 to 2010. As part of the cream, he became the champion of Spain and won the country's Super Cup.
Metzelder also played for the German national team. He has 47 appearances for the national team, and became vice-world champion in 2002 and won bronze in 2006.
