It is dishonest with ordinary Ukrainians, selling them gas at an exorbitant price, former Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman said in an interview with Interfax-Ukraine. He called what is happening in the country a “gas megafer”.
Groysman emphasized that gas, which is being sold to Ukrainians today, was purchased for 3-4 hryvnias, but as a result it reaches the consumer at a price of 8.5-9 hryvnias, taking into account delivery.
“This is such a mega-fera,” the ex-prime minister said.
He also recalled that in October last year, citizens were offered to conclude an annual contract for the supply of gas at 4.7 hryvnia. However, today the proposal is no longer relevant. Groisman wonders where the gas could have gone at a low price in two months, because, according to him, “nothing has changed” during this time.
The argument that market prices have risen only applies to subsequent gas deliveries, Groisman added. And today, in his opinion, the Ukrainians were simply “treated dishonestly.”
Earlier, as “Rambler” reported, the head of the youth branch of the Ukrainian party “Opposition Platform – For Life” Artyom Marchevsky disclosed the “scam of the century” with Russian gas in Ukraine. He recalled that Russia supplies Ukraine with a resource at a price of about 9.9 hryvnia. Taking into account the discount that politician Viktor Medvedchuk “knocked out” in 2019, the cost of “blue fuel” for direct deliveries dropped to 3.8 hryvnia.
However, Ukrainian consumers buy gas several times more expensive, Marchevsky said. This is because at the present time we are not talking about direct deliveries of fuel, but buying it through “some kind of gaskets”: first, gas goes in transit through Ukraine to Slovakia, then it is chased back “on the reverse” and ultimately delivered to the consumer. In fact, according to Marchevsky, fuel for ordinary Ukrainians is taken right on the border with Russia, and it is not sent “to any Slovakia”.
