According to the investigation, the management unreasonably increased the purchase price for electricity and appropriated the difference – about $ 12 million.
According to the investigation materials, officials of the National Energy Regulatory Agency and The Ministry of Economy, which was then headed by Dodon, and other people, in particular, from abroad. As the newspaper writes, the criminal proceedings in this case were resumed in September 2021.
The ex-President of Moldova himself assures that he is not guilty and does not intend to “run away” anywhere and will cooperate with the investigation. “We're not going to run away anywhere,” Dodon said after being questioned by the prosecutor's office. He claims that this case is “an attempt to distract society from dissatisfaction with the increase in prices and tariffs.” … Also in this case are the head of the political council of the OPLZ Viktor Medvedchuk, businessman Sergei Kuzyara and ex-minister of energy Vladimir Demchishin.
