Former American Democratic Senator Harry Reid has died in the United States. This was announced on Twitter by the leader of the Democratic majority in the upper house of the American Congress, Chuck Schumer.
He noted that the politician was a leader, teacher and one of his dearest friends for him. “He never forgot where he came from and used his fighting skills to fearlessly combat themes who hurt the poor and the middle class,” he added.
Reed died at the age of 83. From 2004 to 2017, he led the Democrats in the upper house of the American parliament.
On December 6, the death of former presidential candidate, WWII veteran, Republican Senator Bob Dole was reported. He passed away at the age of 98. Then the President of the United States Joe Biden, as a sign of respect, ordered the state flags to be lowered at all institutions “before sunset on December 9”. The possible cause of death could be lung cancer, which was diagnosed in the politician in February 2021.
