Francois Asselino
Former French presidential candidate François Asselino, leader of the People's Republican Union party, was detained on charges of sexual harassment and moral abuse. This is reported by the newspaper Le Point.
It is noted that the investigation was launched in May 2020. The charges against Asselino were brought forward by his former subordinates. On the morning of February 3, the detained politician answered questions from investigators.
The party leader himself believes that in this way they want to prevent him from participating in the elections in 2022. He denies all accusations and considers them a lie and slander.
Asselino ran for the presidency in 2017, dropping out after the first round with 0.92 percent of the vote. He lost to the current French President Emmanuel Macron, finishing in ninth place out of 11.
Earlier in Finland, they offered to punish for sending intimate photos without asking. So, the transfer of photos of the genitals was proposed to be included in the list of criminal acts and given real terms for this.
