Former Minister of Defense of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Igor Girkin (Strelkov), commenting on the demand of the Dutch prosecutor's office to give him a life sentence in the case of the Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 crash, said that he would not give any evidence. This is reported by the radio station “Moscow speaking”.

According to the accused, he did not change his position on this issue. “The Boeing militia did not shoot down. I don’t give any more comments on this topic. Naturally, I will not give any evidence. I consider this “trial” as illegal and aimed at reprisals against the enemies of the new world order, ”Girkin said.

Earlier, the presiding judge Hendrik Steinhei in the case of the downed Malaysian Boeing said that the Russian side Russia rejected the Netherlands' request to interrogate the commander of the 53rd anti-aircraft missile brigade, based in Kursk, Sergei Muchkaev. According to Russia, such a survey contradicts the country's requirements.

The Boeing 777 of Malaysia Airlines, en route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, crashed on July 17, 2014 in the territory controlled by the DPR. 298 people died. The joint investigation team involved in the investigation of the disaster includes representatives from Australia, Belgium, Malaysia, the Netherlands and Ukraine.

The investigation believes that former DPR Defense Minister Igor Girkin (Strelkov) and three of his subordinates – Sergei Dubinsky, Oleg Pulatov and Leonid Kharchenko were involved in the plane crash. They are accused of delivering a Buk air defense missile system from Russia to Ukraine, from which the liner was shot down.
