A former employee of the Russian Ministry of Defense in Khabarovsk was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison for a bribe of 2.2 million rubles. This was reported on the website of the main military investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).

According to the investigation, the ex-head of the federal enterprise “Office of the customer for capital construction of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation” Alexander Khan from October 2019 to March 2020 received about 2.2 million rubles from the general director of St. Petersburg Construction Company LLC (PSK) for concluding a contract and patronage when it is executed. In addition, during the preliminary investigation, Khan was fired. He did not admit his guilt.

Khan was found guilty of a crime under part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (taking a bribe by an official on an especially large scale). He was sentenced to eight years and four months in prison. In addition, he is deprived of the right to hold certain positions in the civil service for a period of three years, as well as a fine of 4.4 million rubles.

Earlier in December, Alexander Lopatin, the leading adviser to the department of the Russian Ministry of Defense for ensuring the state defense order, was suspected of taking a bribe in the amount of 1.4 million rubles under a state contract. On December 9, the Basmanny Court of Moscow sent Lopatin under house arrest.
