Russians are advised to postpone travel abroad due to the situation with the coronavirus. This was stated at the briefing by the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. It is broadcast on the department's Facebook page.

The diplomat pointed out that the epidemiological situation in the world is rapidly deteriorating, and the rate of filling of wards in hospitals raises serious concerns. “The results of the last two months, unfortunately, show that the worst forecasts are coming true,” she said.

It is because of this that the Foreign Ministry advises Russians to postpone unnecessary trips to a later date. Zakharova added that now Europe has become the epicenter of the spread of the coronavirus.

At the end of October, the Foreign Ministry also noted that it is not worth going abroad. “The second wave, apparently, threatens to be even stronger, more dangerous than the first,” Zakharova stressed.

Earlier in the world, a record was set for the number of deaths from coronavirus per day – 9,763 people died.

As of November 5, over 48 million people in the world have contracted the coronavirus for all the time, of which more than 1.2 million have died, and another 32 million have recovered. Most of the infected are in the United States, India, Brazil, Russia and France.
