On Sunday, December 17, to the Pope Francis turned 87 years old. On this occasion, a traditional party was held in the Vatican with a circus performance and cake.

The pontiff spent his birthday with approximately 200 families during an event organized by the Santa Marta pediatric dispensary , which offers support to struggling mothers and children.
Following the tradition established for the 2013 birthday celebrations of Pope Francis at the Vatican, the celebration included artistic performances by children and a short circus performance, followed by cake before a prayer and blessing.
According to Vaticannews, the cake for the Pope was personalized and contained an image of the pontiff surrounded by children.
In a short word, Pope Francis thanked those present for the birthday greetings and called on everyone to prepare for the celebration of Christmas.
The Pope was also congratulated on his birthday by Italian President Sergio Mattarella, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, representatives of the Senate and Chamber of Deputies and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
