Participants of the XXIX All-Russian Festival “Russian Student Spring”, which will be held in Nizhny Novgorod from May 15 to May 20, 2021, will be able to present the idea of their own scientific research in the framework of the new direction “Scientific Slam”, the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation reported on Thursday.
The press service noted that a meeting of the organizing committee of the festival was held in the Ministry of Education under the chairmanship of the head of the ministry Valery Falkov. “According to the minister, the scientific slam will become a new direction of the festival in 2021, the main goal of which is to popularize science among young people and increase the interest of students in research activities,” the message says.
Participants of the “Scientific Slam” will need to prepare a witty and interesting speech, in which to reveal in detail the idea of their own scientific research or project, the ministry said.
“This year the event is held within the framework of the Year of Science and Technology and the celebration of the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin, who participated in the meeting, noted that the opening ceremony of the festival will be one of the first large-scale shows in a series of jubilee events timed to coincide with the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod.
“In addition to creative competitions, it is planned to build a festival town within the framework of the festival, which will be accessible to residents and guests of the region. The “Russian Student Spring” festival of the Russian Youth Union is being implemented within the framework of the federal project “Social elevators for everyone” of the national project “Education”. The organizers of the festival in 2021 are the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the National Research Nizhny Novgorod State University named after I. N.I. Lobachevsky, Russian Youth Union.
