Social network Facebook has begun work on the short video dating service Sparked. Fast online dating will be tied to an account and set an important condition for users – no negativity.
The new development was announced by The Verge. To take part in testing a quick dating app, you need to explain in your application why the user considers himself a kind and tolerant person. This is key for developers following Facebook's policies to reduce aggression on their sites.
It is known that the service will be linked to a Facebook account, but without the option of public profiles and direct contacts via social networks. You can use it for free, but you need to strictly follow the rules of the site. When registering, it is necessary to indicate what makes the user kind and what qualities he considers to be the best in himself. After moderation, the new member will receive an invitation.
The very principle of the application is written off from the concept of “quick dates” in clubs. Only four minutes are given for the first acquaintance, and if both interlocutors are satisfied, the second virtual date will take 10 minutes. If successful, Sparked will offer to exchange contacts on Instagram, iMessage or email addresses in order to continue communication at a pace that is convenient for both.
Tolerance is not an accidental requirement for dating. In Sparked, you can choose the interlocutor by gender and orientation and indicate the permissibility of transgender, so that moderators will strictly monitor manifestations of homophobia and intolerance on the site.
A Facebook spokesman confirmed the existence of such an app and called it an early beta experiment. Sparked is created by the NPE Team, a small internal Facebook group of developers working on experimental applications. In early April, the division has already launched beta testing of the Hotline Q&A service.
In 2018, the company announced the launch of Facebook Dating, a standard dating app with public profiles that offers users options for chatting based on their preferences and interests. It now operates in several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.
