In early October, the deserters arrived in France, where they began the asylum process.
The European Union authorities have issued visas for the first time to a group of Russian deserters, including a participant in the war with Ukraine.

Among those who received visas, one participated in the war against Ukraine. The other three are career officers, and two are mobilized, who avoided being sent to the front.
Human rights activists note that for European authorities, it was not only the desertion itself that was important, but also the clear anti-war position of the deserters.
Six Russian deserters arrived in France in early October, where they began the process of obtaining asylum. In July 2023, the French National Court of Asylum Rights issued a decision confirming the right of deserters and supporters to asylum.
Recall that on the night of October 12, 2024, the Russians again attacked Ukraine using missiles and 28 drones. The attack was carried out from the Belgorod region and from the Kursk and Primorsko-Akhtarsk districts.
