For the first time, the electronic warfare specialists of the 49th Army of the Southern Military District used an “impenetrable dome” against drones. This is the Pole-21 complex.

According to Rossiyskaya Gazeta, the “impenetrable dome” can control airspace within a radius of more than 50 kilometers. “Pole-21” is, in fact, unified radio interference modules of a “spatially distributed cover system”.

The Kupol is capable of jamming signals from satellite channels, including GPS (USA), Beidou (China) and Galileo (European Union). That is, in fact, the complex can fight not only with drones, but also with cruise missiles and aviation bombs.

In total, about 1.5 thousand servicemen and 200 units of military equipment took part in the exercises. The R-934BMV automated jamming station and the Silok-01 electronic warfare system were also used.
